Fun With Google Query Suggestions – Part 1

1

You may have noticed that if you type into the search box on Google’s Web Search, Google comes up with any number of searches that it thinks you may be looking for and shows them in a little drop-down box below the main search field.

Some of these query suggestions are…well…I’ll let them speak for themselves.

Google Query Suggestions For - Can I Kill

Google Query Suggestions For - Can I Kill

Can I kill you? Pretty please? Do you mind? Can you fill out this release form for me?

Killing someone and getting away with it would probably include not searching for the term “can I kill someone and get away with it” on a search engine that tracks individual searches from specific IP addresses.

And look there – hidden right in the middle. Can I kill my wife? Well, try killing her in international waters, my friend.

I am surprised that most people want to kill dogs, pigeons and squirrels, without any mention of cats.

Very enlightening. A big improvement on the ‘voices in my head’ method.
